Happiness

Today all the sufferings are due to desires. When we identify ourselves as mind and body then all the bodily desire and physical world’s inspiration become the central force of our day-to-day life. We tend to spend most of our time in managing and fulfilling these bodily desires.

Mind, too, is a separate dimension of this physicality and can be perceived as an extension of body. All the thoughts, feelings and emotions arising in our mind are nothing but the offshoots of our bodily and sensory reactions. Body through its five senses always keeps interacting with the external world. All the stimulus of this external world triggers the plethora of reaction in our mind by means of thought, emotions, desires etc.

Human being has an innate longingness for infinity. Most of our bodily desires are just the physical way to achieve the infinite. But as we know infinite is an abstract idea that only can be experienced not a physical thing to achieve. That is why we tend to desire even more when we get more. In fact, this desire for infinite can not be satiated by the physical or bodily pursuit. One must strive for going beyond mind and body.

Today we take instruction from external stimulus through our body and mind. We are being controlled by our mind and body not the otherwise. That is why our state of mind keeps changing with external environment. We tend to be happy when everything goes in our way and feel sad when our plan does not work. And most surprisingly this is happening despite our generation being technologically the most advanced one. Today we have all the luxuries of the world that even a king of past century could not afford. Still, we are at large anxious, unhappy and discontent. This, largely, is happening because today we are being govern by intricacies of external world.

If we really want to get rid of this suffering and rest in blissfulness, then we must take hold of ourselves and this identification of ourself with mind and body must be slowly but steadily reduced. We must realize that we are neither the body nor the mind but beyond that. Life should be the path to experience this very truth. This will help us in merging with nonphysical dimension of reality i.e. Supreme, Bramha(Infinity). And only that will give you true happiness and blissful life.
